Shaska’s dance interpretation
incorporates Egyptian and Turkish
Cabaret, with Moroccan influences.
All the costumes are handmade by
Shaska, hundreds of hours of
dedication and love.
Turkish costuming is beaded with
loose, flowing skirts and Harem
pants.
Egyptian costuming is adorned
with shiny ornaments with a tightly
fitted skirt which sometimes flares
out around the knees.
Tribal costuming brings together
ethnic cultures from Morocco to
Romania. Gypsy skirts, rustic coins,
elaborate turbines, small shells and
large colorful tassels are all
specific to the mix and match
styling of the nomadic tribes.
